Entrants
It couldn't have been a better day, glorious sun & a gentle breeze. 16 flyers from all over the U.K. attended
They travelled from as far west as Blackpool - 80 miles, south - 210 miles & north, Scotland 380 miles.
As can be seen there were many large, beautifully detailed biplanes among the entrants,
but it was unusual to see Mick Reeves with a quarter scale electric powered Spitfire.
Flying started at 10 am, & we were treated to some fine flying until close of play at 5 pm

Report on April club night

Report and photos by Terry Lee

Harry Harland, all the way from Hartlepool, gave us a talk and demonstration on working with 'litho plate'.
He made air intake scoops, blisters & hinges - including showing how to anneal the material first.
He brought along his new 'Comper Swift' fuselage which incorporated many of his creations.
Harry then invited club members to 'have a go', many finding that it was easier than they thought.

The first event of 2011 was a fun fly which took place on 20th March.
The weather although mostly overcast was kind to us, so good for March.
(Gave me a good reason to dust off the old faithful Wot4 and fly for first time in about 9 months!!)
All who attended had a good day and thanked the organisers.

Many took part in the spot landing fun competition. Not as easy as it looks as I found out.
Later on the weather got a bit too breezy to do the Limbo event.

Thanks goes to the main organisers John Bunting and Ian Winstanley who ran the event.
Thanks to Bryn for the catering and his band of supporters.
The food and drink was very good and enjoyed by many.
Thanks also to Terry Lee whose practical help and advice from his vast experience was invaluable.
Thanks to Andy Symons and Mick Revis for providing the tents, and all those who helped put them up and take them down.

Here is a list, in no particular order, of those who attended and their models, apologies to any one I have missed.
